Building 35 is being renovated to provide for the general and special needs of the Center of Military History. The project will include interior upgrades to provide administrative areas, art and artifact storage areas, laboratory areas, and a shipping and loading dock. Interior renovations will include demolition, the installation of new floors and ceilings, new doors and windows, new demountable partitions, new drywall partitions, and painting. Plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems will be upgraded. Fire/smoke detection and fire suppression systems will be provided throughout the building and will be tied into the installation's fire alarm system. The project will also include exterior repairs to the building. These repairs will include roof repairs, repair of gutters and downspouts, window repairs and brick and concrete repairs. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. Large business firms are required to submit a Subcontracting Plan. The Subcontracting Plan does not have to be submitted at bid opening. The subcontracting goals are 60% for small business and 5% for both small disadvantaged and woman-owned.
