Z -- REPAIR PRIMARY POWER VAULT B-104, B-120 SOL F03602-97-B0003 DUE 053097 POC Contact SSgt Michael Bittner, (501) 988-3855, or Contracting Officer, Loretta Zimmer, (501) 988-3379; Facsimile Number (501) 988-8119 The principle features of work for this project are, but are not limited to: (a) Remove existing 2400 volt, single phase, airfield lighting, constant current regulators and replace with new 480 volt regulators; (b) Remove 4160 volt exposed bus and associated insulators and fused cutouts; (c) Remove 4160 volt service to Bldg-120. Install new parallel service from existing pole mounted transformers and served from existing 13.8KV primary circuit; (d) Remove three 2400 volt oil switches that serve beacon and strobe lights on each end of runway; (e) Check current loads and verify size of transformer, emergency generator, and service conductors; (f) Provide three new 480-2400 volt, single phase, dry type transformers in vault to step 480 volts up to 2400 volts to serve existing beacon and strobe lights at each end of runway. Replace existing underground cables between vault and riser pole serving the beacon with new cables. Existing overhead conductors wserving beacon will remain in service; (g) Replace existing oil filled selector switch on approach lighting circuit; (h) Replace existing airfield lighting control system with new computerized control and monitoring system; (i) Upgrade existing vault ventilation system; (j) Replace existing airfield lighting control system with new computerized control and monitoring system; (k) Existing regulators that are currently operating on 208 volt system will remain in service without change; (l) Provide fire alarm system in vault that reports be radio to Base fire alarm system; (m) Provide filters on vault outside wall louvers to prevent dust from entering vault; (n) Provide a new 600 ampere, 120/208 volt, 3 phase main service panel, replacing the existing 400 ampere panel, and connect all loads to the new main service panel. This is a firm-fixed price contract. The estimated cost of construction is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The performance period will be 180 days. This procurement is being issued on an unrestricted basis with small disadvantaged business evaluation preference. This office proposes to issue IFB F03602-97-B0003 on or about 30 Apr 97.
