Saylor, Contract Specialist, (202) 307-4366 The U.S. Department of
Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration has a requirement for the
acquisition of single engine fixed wing aircraft to replace and enhance
the DEA's current fleet. The Government anticipates making one contract
award for a five year (one year plus four one-year options) indefinite
delivery/indefinite quantity contract with a minimum of three aircraft
to be purchased in Fiscal Year 1997. The aircraft must be a Cessna 206T
or equivalent, new or no more than 20.0 hours since new and shall, at
a minimum, be a new six place, single engine, high wing, all metal
construction, with fixed tricycle landing gear. The flight controls
shall be a conventional aileron, rudder, elevator and flap system
design. It shall have a turbocharged, fuel injected, aircooled
reciprocating engine with a minimum of 300 BHP maximum continuous
rating at 2500 RPM. The aircraft shall have a maximum speed of 170
knots at 17,000 feet and 145 knots at 75% power at 10,000 feet per
minute. The service ceiling shall be 25,000 ft. Minimum takeoff
distance shall be no more than 900 ft. Maximum takeoff and landing
weight shall be no less than 3600 lbs. Minimum useful load shall be
1600 lbs. Minimum total fuel capacity shall be 90 gallons. The minimum
dimensions: the aircraft shall have a minimum of 54 cubic feet of
internal cargo space. The cargo door shall have minimum dimensions of
54 cubic feet of internal cargo space. The cargo door shall have a
minimum dimension of 3.5 ft. wide and 3 ft. high. Each aircraft shall
have an avionics package consisting of: dual Nav/Coms with Glide Slope.
IFR GPS, 3 each Audio panels, one with a marker beacon, Mode S
transponder, Flight Director and a 2 axis autopilot. The aircraft shall
be certified in accordance with Federal Aviation Admiistration
regulation part 23, Airworthiness Standards. Those parties who
responded to the sources sought announcement published February 11,
1997 in the CBD will automatically receive a copy of the solicitation.
