Coordination has a requirement for the services of a Program Specialist
-- Information and Database Applications for a period of one (1) year
to provide technical support (i.e.computer software applications,
integration and upgrade) to the Market Access and Compliance (MAC)
organization's Office of Policy Coordination (OPC). MAC/OPC has the
responsibility for ensuring the development of an integrated and
efficient trade information system that includes utilization of both
the fax-on-demand and the Internet systems, as well as other advanced
automated systems, that will provide the U.S. business community with
current information on business conditions and opportunitiesin
promising foreign markets. Technical support is needed to incorporate
advances in software to develop a unified, easy to maintain, Internet
presence for foreign market information. Applicants must meet the
following requirements: 1) Ability to work with existing MAC automated
information systems (fax-on-demand and Internet) to improve and expand
their efficiency to better meet business needs. This includes the
ability to work with the appropriate software packages, and an
understanding of the program goals of the organization; 2) Ability to
develop and maintain new Internet information functions for MAC
initiatives, including development and implementation of new homepage
sites, and utilization of advanced software applications, including Hot
Metal Pro, Cold Fusion, and Lotus Notes, to enhance the operation of
these information systems; 3) Ability to develop administrative and
organizational details for Commerce-organized events with the U.S.
business community, such as missions and business conferences,
including the capability to maintain various databases, including
Microsoft Access, and to apply these databases efficiently to the
mission/conference organization process; 4) Knowledge of information
and promotion programs and activities of Mac unit, so as tobe able to
handle assigned tasks efficiently and liaise with other ITA units
without the need for close supervision. Applicants must meet the
referenced requirements and will be further evaluated on their
experience, education and training. Qualified applicants are invited to
