The VA Puget Sound Health Care System requires the annual cleaning of windows at both the Seattle and American Lake Divisions, consisting of approximately 5000 windows. The contract is for an initial cleaning in 1997, plus subsequent cleanings during four option years. During the four option years, there is not only a requirement for the annual cleaning (at both Divisions), but a 2nd (bi-annual) optional cleaning as well (Seattle Division only), subject to availability of funds. Work consists of cleaning both the inside and outside of each window, including the outside frame and window well. Approximately 2500 windows are equipped with outer screens which must be removed by contractor prior to window cleaning, and re-attached at completion. Because both Divisions contain a variety of screens, with various methods of attachment, potential bidders are strongly encouraged to examine the site prior to bid preparation. This procurement is issued subject to FAR Part 12 for the acquisition of commercial items, and is 100% set-aside for small business. SIC Code 7349 applies.
