Dawson, SEA 02423D, (703) 602-0200, ext. 414 The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to award a sole source Letter Contract to York International Corporation, York Marine Systems, P. O. Box 1592, York, PA 17405-1592, for the procurement of: four (4) 250 Ton Centrifugal Air Conditioning Units as modified by a Universal Microprocessor Control Panel, with Auxiliary Components for the 250 Ton Air Conditioning Units, Installation and Checkout Spares, Technical Data, Administrative Data, Technical Manual Requirements, up to (40) eight hour mandays of Engineering Services, Support, Selected Repair Parts, Provisioning Technical Documentation, and Provisioned Item Order with options for up to four (4) 250 Ton Air Conditioning Units as modified by a Universal Microprocessor Control Panel, with Auxiliary Components for the 250 Ton Air Conditioning Units. The options will also include Installation and Checkout Spares, Engineering Services, Support, and Selected Repair Parts. This procurement is being directed sole source to York, because of the severely deteriorated condition of the currently installed 150 Ton Air Conditioning Units aboard the LCC 19 & 20 ships and their limited cooling capability. The decreased cooling capacities of the 150 Ton A/C units are as a result of both their deteriorated condition and the increased cooling volume required to support the increased loads associated with C4I System installations (C4I - -- Command, Control, Communications, Computer Systems and Intelligence Systems). York, as the sole designer of the 250 ton air conditioning units and owner of the unlimited rights in technical data for the compressor components of the centrifugal air conditioning units, is the only firm that can meet the required delivery schedule for the scheduled LCC 19 & 20 Docking Phased Maintenance Availability (DPMA).
