58 -- GYRO-STABILIZED BINOCULARS POC Richard I. Sanders, 202/324-2279 This is a Request for Information (RFI). All businesses regardless of size are encouraged to respond to this RFI. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is requesting business concerns which have the ability to furnish the supplies described herein are requested to give written notification (including the telephone number for point of contact) to the procuring office noted above within seven (7) days from date of this synopsis for the following items: 1) A Gyro-Stabilized Binocular (GSB) with a magnifying power of 12.0 power in each of its individual telescope; the minimum differential in magnifying power between the two individual telescope of each GSB unit shall not exceed 2%; minimum objective lens diameter is 40 millimeters (mm); minimum field of view for each unit shall be 4.5 degrees; minimum luminous transmission of each GSB unit shall be 70%; the minimum eye relief of the GSB system shall be 16.0 mm; the minimum stabilization freedom of the GSB unit shall be 5.0 degrees per second; the maximum external length shall not exceed 220 mm; maximum external width shall not exceed 220mm; maximum external height shall not exceed 100 mm; maximum weight of the GSB unit shall not exceed 4.5 pounds. 2) A Gyro-Stabilized Binocular (GSB) with a magnifying power of 16.0 power in each of its individual telescope; the minimum differential in magnifying power between the two individual telescopes of each GSB unit shall not exceed 2%; the minimum objective lens diameter of the GSB unit is 40 mm; minimum field of view of the GSB unit shall be 3.4 degrees; the minimum luminous transmission of each GSB unit shall be 70%; the minimum eye relief of the GSB unit shall be 12.0 minimum stabilization freedom of the GSB unit shall be 5.0 degrees; the scanning rate of the GSB unit shall not be less than 5.0 degrees per second; maximum external length shall not exceed 220 mm; maximum external width shall not exceed 220 mm; maximum external height shall not exceed 100 mm; maximum weight of the GSB unit shall not exceed 4.5 pounds. Respondents shall supply sufficient technical documentation. This technical data shall include but not limited to specifications of proposed item(s), identification of specific experience in the binocular/optic field, and list of government/commercial contracts. Respondents are also required to submit data regarding delivery, payment terms, and warranty terms. This is a request for information only and will assist this office in determining if any small business or 8(a) firm is capable of meeting this requirement. Responses must be in writing within seven (7) days of this notice to the address listed above. Only responses with sufficient technical data will be considered. (0080)
