The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and Defense Reutilization and Marketing Services (DRMS) is exploring the possibility of recieving concept proposals for Market Maker Information Services. Concept proposals should investigate innovative and creative business solutions that establish an electronic information exchange to increase the size of the audience to which DRMS can market products. The Market Maker Information Service shall use current DRMS capabilities as an initial source of data relative to assets in the DRMS inventory. DRMS is responsible for disposal of Department of Defense (DoD) excess personal property throughout the United States and numerous overseas locations. DRMS accomplishes this through reutilization, transfer, donation, sale, or ulitmate disposal of the property. DRMS manages and tracks the excess property (acquisition value of approximately $12 billion in FY 96) through a variety of automated systems. We believe that the data included in these systems have a potential market value that is currently not being realized. Information packets are available upon request.
