39 -- NYLON FILAMENT (BRUSHES) SOL 1PI-B-1997-97 DUE 051497 POC Contract Specialist, JOHNSON, ANNETTE, 202-305-7280 UNICOR, Federal Prison Industries, Inc. intends to enter into a requirements type contract for one year on estimated quantities for various assorted sized of nylon filament (brushes). UNICOR Brush Factory will issue monthly releases on these itmes. The total estimated quantity for all items 92,400.00 lbs. Supplies to be finished under this contract shall be ordered by issuance of individual delivery orders. Bid samples are required and vendors will submit a sample of the filament to a independent laboratory for confirmation of compliance with Federal Specification H-S-(51D. A copy of the test report and bid sample will be submitted to the Quality Assurance Department at LaTuna, Federal Prison Industries, LaTuna, Texas Highway 20, Anthony, TX 79821, at no cost to the Government before the bid is awarded. The filament sample will also be made into a complete brush to be run throughout the entire production cycle, to include tipping and flagging. The finished brush will be tested in accordance and must conform to all requirements with Federal Specification H-B-420K dated August 30, 1991. On the requirement for testing under Federal Specification HB-420K, if a vendor does not have the facilities to manufacture a finished paint brush, the vendor can send his sample nylon filaments to UNICOR, LaTuna. The Brush Factory will use the vendors' samples to make a paint brush. The Quality Assurance will then test the brush. Delivery will begin 60 days after receipt of delivery order. FOB destination to FCI LaTuna. All responsible vendors will considered for award.
