COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 26,1997 PSA#181099 -- NORTHEAST REGIONAL FACILITIES MAINTAENANCE INITIATIVE!! (
97-R-0295) . The Defense Industrial Supply Center (DISC) is seeking
proposals from business entities interested in participating in an
acquisition as a Prime Vendor for a facilities maintenance initiative.
The initiative will encompass all supplies associated with facilities
maintenance to include plumbing/HVAC/refrigeration, lumber, electrical
small tools, paint, hardware and assorted fixtures. This is a
representative list and should not be considered exhaustive of all
products that will be in the initiative. All items are brand name
specific and/or generic commercial products. A Prime Vendor, or
Integrated Supplier, can be defined as the designation of a single
source of supply for a wide range of products. The initial
implementation will take place at an assigned place and time.
Perspective contractors should be able to adequately support purchases
that will range from a minimum of $1.5 million to $7 million for the
initial implementation with a maximum potential of $125 million per
year during the option years of the contract. The maximum dollar value
is contingent on the number of facilities and the extent of the
participation of those facilities at any given time. Perspective
contractors should have an on-line Electronic Order Entry (EOE) system
and have Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) capability. Subject
solicitation will be issued on an unrestricted basis with the resultant
contract being an Indefinite Quantity Contract (IQC) for one base year
with four (4) one-year term options. This will be a best value source
selection acquisition in which technical merit is considered more
important than price. Solicitation SP0500-97-R-0295, including the
Statement of Work and complete details and conditions, is expected to
be issued 9 April 1997 with an estimated closing date of 27 May 1997.
A pre-proposal conference is tentatively planned for the week of 21
April 1997. To obtain further information about the preproposal
conference, other details or to obtain a copy of the solicitation,
