Street,S.W., Atlanta, GA 30303 66 -- INSTRUMENTS & LABORATORY EQUIPMENT MERCURY ANALYZER SOL RFQ017
DUE 041197 POC Stacy Hill (404) 562-8375 Tekran model 2537A or equal
Continous Mercury Analyzer capable of continously monitoring mercury at
sub-parts per trillion levels 1 ea. to include the following features:
a-It must have a dual cartidge arrangement to allow continuous
sampling of the air stream. While one cartridge is sampling ambient
air, the other is being analyzed. There are thus no gaps in data. b-The
cartridge must be made of pure gold and capable of withstanding many
tens of thousands of desorption cycles without degradation. c-The
instrument must be sufficiently quick to allow data to be obtained in
near real time (5 minute update rate typical, 2.5 minutes minimum).
d-Must have an internal permeation source to allow the instrument to
recalibrate itself automatically. It is thus possible to leave the
instrument unattended for extended periods of time. Nominal permation
rate 1 picogram/second. e-Must have a bypass valve arrangement to
prevent contaminated air from contacting the detector, making cleaning
operations infrequent or totallly unnecessary. f-Must have an inert
gas optical purge feature to improve the stability of the detector. The
instrument should require very infrequent adjustments to the Gain and
Sensitivity controls. g-An electronic mass flow meter must be used to
measure the ambient air sample flow rate. Must have a closed loop
controller to adjust the pump speed to maintain the desired flow rate.
Must have internal microprocessor that calculates the sample volume
from the actual MFM readings to provide more accurate sample volumes
than are possible using rotameters. h-An electronic mass flow
controller must be used to adjust the carrier gas flow rates for
optimum performance and minimum gas usage. A full size tank of argon
should typically last for two or three months of continuous analysis at
5 minute cycles. An internal control solenoid must shut off carrier gas
when the instrument is turned off or in the event of a power failure.
I-It must have analog, digital, and RS-232 outputs, as well as control
inputs, allowingit to integrate into virtually any air quality
telemetry system. J-It must have compact, self contained, and rack
mountable. All required components including pump, internal
microcomputer, calibration source, etc must be included. Tekran model
2537A or equal Option 001 Internal Permeation Source 1 ea with the
following features: a- a precision temp. controlled aluminum block
containing the permeation chamber is maintained to within 0.05degrees
C of the setpoint, resulting in stable emmision rates The range of
allowable temp. is from 45 to 75 degrees C, with 50 degrees being the
normal setting. A variety of permeation tubes, ranging in lenght from
1 to 3 cm may be installed in the chamber to accommodate a variety of
calibration concentrations. In order to prevent contamination and
eliminate any possiblity of oxidation on the permeation tube surface,
only inert gas is used to provide a continuous purge flow. A capillary
restrictor, fed by the pressure regulator provides this constant flow.
. Tekran model 2537Aor equal Custom Aluminum Shipping case designed to
fit all shipping of the instrument protecting it from falls up to 24"
