Brown, 413-582-3093 Project 631-97-105, Air Conditioning Modifications consists of mechanical engineering and architectual services as required to modify and expand air conditioning systems within the VA Medical Center, Northampton, MA, including HVAC control work to integrate with the existing control software. Work requires the services of a professional Industrial Hygienist and AIHA Certified Laboratory to identify if asbestos containing materials are present in the area of construction. If asbestos is present, the team will design asbestos abatement required during construction work. NOTE: Work must be designed, available for bidding and awarded by September 15, 1997. This will be a fast track design process. Selection will be based on recent specialized experience, professional capacity to accomplish work, professional qualifications of staff and consultants assigned to the project, the location of the firm in relation to this Medical Center, and experience and capabilities using CAAD. Applications will be accepted from firms that maintain an established office in the states of Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Maine.
