This is not an RFP. A source seeking synopsis is being conducted for Contractor Logistics Support Requirements for the T-3A aircraft. The T-3A is a missionized version of the T67M260 composite aircraft built by Slingsby Aviation, Limited, United Kingdom. it is a two seat (side by side), low wing, propeller driven, fully aerobatic trainer powered by a 260 hp Textron Lycoming AEIO-540-D4A5 engine. It is an Faa registered, type-certified and maintained aircraft. The aircraft was designed to meet the needs of the Air Force and was selected as the new AETC Enhanced Flight Screener in April 1992. The Firefly meets the aerobatic and utility categories of FAR Part 23 and BCARs Section K. The aircraft carries two pilots and equipment totalling 500 pounds and a full fuel load for over three hours of pilot training. The T-3A is stationed at the Hondo Municipal Airport in Hondo (57 aircraft), Texas, and the USAF Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado (54 aircraft). The aircraft is supported by full contractor logistics support (CLS). The CLS contract will be managed by OC-ALC/LKO. Contract provisions include total supply support utilizing government owned/provided spares and support equipment, repair and replenishment of unserviceable assets, managing a Contractor Operated and Maintained Base Supply (COMBS) at each operating location and organizational/intermediate/depot level maintenance. Contract instructor pilots and limited grounds maintenance will be required at the Hondo, Texas location. The contractor will be responsible for the daily servicing of the aircraft to include providing petroleum, oil, lubricants and fueling/defueling the aircraft. Contract performance is anticipated to begin in FY99.
