The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, MD announces its intention to acquire on a firm fixed price, sole source basis, fabrication and repair services of composite components representative of aircraft/helicopter structures under a new program entitled Ballistic Tolerant Stiffeners. The scope of this effort is to fabricate and repair (a) representative aircraft structures -- i.e., 40X40 inch panels with and without Z-pinning, and (b) 14X14 inch coupon panels. In both cases the subject panels will be identical to panels at a selected V-22 cabin section. Fabrication and repair of all coupons and aircraft structures will be performed by the contractor. This acquisition will be negotiated on a sole source basis with Boeing Helicopter, Philadelphia, PA under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 (Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement) and Numbered Note 22.
