The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) is seeking
potential sources for swimmer transport devices (STD) with the
following minimum specifications: a. The STD must be a
Non-developmental Item (NDI). b. The STD must be deployable to all
mission areas and survive all weather conditions as specified in the
standard Naval Special Warfare environmental parameters. c. The STD
dimensions must be such that it will pass through an access hatch 30"
in diameter. The length shall not exceed 80". An equipment compartment
is desirable but not required. d. The STD must operate on self
contained power. e. A navigation system that provides, at a minimum,
speed/distance and course data for a dead reckoning navigation solution
is highly desirable. A battery voltage discharge indicator is required.
f. The fielded STD systems must have a diagnostic test kit for
monitoring and testing systems to ensure normal operations. There is no
Solicitation package available at this time. USSOCOM is searching for
INFORMATION ONLY from manufacturers or dealers interested in providing
the STDs. Interested firms should submit information of their products
and capabilities which include available technology, product literature
and illustrations, and relevant company background/experience.
