COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 28,1997 PSA#1812US Army CECOM, CECOM Acquisition Center, Ft. Monmouth, NJ 07703-5008 61 -- MARKET SURVEY FOR RADIO ACCESS UNIT (RAU) RANGE EXTENSION
PROGRAM POC Walter Grudus, Engineer, (908) 532-8489 E-MAIL: CECOM
Acquisition Center, defazioj@doim6.monmouth.army.mil. The following
information is provided in addition to that which was published in the
4 March 97 CBD issue. The government anticipates issuing a RFP later
this year in the Oct/Nov 97 time frame. The RFP will require
contractors wishing to respond to the RFP to demonstrate their
approach/concept to the Government during the proposal
evaluation/selection period of approximately Feb-May 98 time frame. The
RFP will require any bidder to address the complete integration of a
proposed solution, that substantially increases the operational range
between the RAU and the Mobile Subscriber Ratiotelephone Terminal
(MSRT) AN/VRC-97. The integration issues must address, as a minimum,
both the physical and electrical aspects of installing and interfacing
any hardware, if required, with other existing equipment in the RAU
shelter or MSRT and the system compatibility issues associated with the
existing system operational features between the RAU and MSRT.
Anticipate contract award in the July 98 time frame where the
Government will be interested in procuring some form of a complete
retrofit package and any required associated logistical support items.
It is anticipated that a AN/TRC-191 Shelter will be made available to
be scheduled for use at Fort Monmouth, NJ (or other Government
facility) for the above periods and by the winning contractor if
required. The Government's present hardware requirements for this
program are such that Product Acceptance Test & Evaluation (PATE)
testing be completed 14 months after contract award and initial
production delivery 17 months after contract award. (0084) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0291 19970328\61-0003.SOL)
