Perform toxicity tests, chemical analyses and benthic community assessment on sediment samples provided by NOAA from the survey area of northern Puget Sound areas in Washington state. 100 samples will be collected over a 15 -- 20 day period during late spring and early summer. Toxicity tests shall be a 10-day solid phase tests with the marine Ampelisca Ablita. All test shall be performed in quintuplicates following basic procedures of the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM 1993). The estimated period of performance is for one year beginning in May of 1997 with two one-year option periods. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.
