M -- LAUNCH OPERATIONS & SUPPORT POC Linda Sherod or Lee Thompson, (407) 494-2208 This market survey is being conducted to identify firms interested in providing weapon systems support for DoD and commercial launch processing at Cape Canaveral AS, FL. Services may include but are not limited to rail car maintenance, load testing, operational safety, ordnance, plant/facility engineering, safety engineering, systems engineering, long-range planning and statements of capability, utility system monitoring, facility control systems management and maintenance, fire detection and alarm maintenance/repair, fixed crane, special purpose elevator maintenance/repair, high/low voltage electrical, UPS/generators, waste water, water systems, HVAC, fuel storage, xenon lighting, critical systems baselining, configuration management, logistics support analysis, level II maintenance, and mission control operations. Multiple awards are not anticipated. The basic contract period will be Jan-Sep 98 with 6 one-year options. Top secret security clearances are required. The applicable SIC code and size standard are 8744/$20M. Conflict of interest rules may apply which would prohibit participation in related acquisitions. Firms responding to this synopsis must (1) state whether they are a small or large business based on the size standard above, (2) indicate if a small disadvantaged or woman-owned business, 8(a) firm, or a historically black college or university or minority institution (HBCU/MI), (3) provide experience in the form of an outline of previous projects for specific relevant work completed or currently being performed including contract numbers, description of the work, points of contact, and phone numbers; professional qualifications and specific experience of personnel identified to perform the work; and (4) any other pertinent information which would enable the government to assess a firm's capabilities. Because the government reserves the right to set this acquisition aside for small businesses, 8(a) firms, or HBCUs/MIs based on the responses received, it is imperative that firms respond with the required information so that capabilities can be evaluated accurately. Complete responses must be received by the government prior to close of business on 10 Apr 97.
