Medical Center/Outpatient Clinics anticipates the award ofa Firm-Fixed
Price contract for Project 523-024 for a contractor to provide all
labor, materials, equipment and services to construct a new Ambulatory
Care Addition at this medical center. Work shall include demolition,
general construction, alterations, roads, walks, landscaping, grading,
mechanical, electrical and utility services, elevators and necessary
removal of existing structures. It is anticipated that the solicitation
will be available on or about May 6, 1997 with a Bid Opening on or
about July 7, 1997. The Project is estimated between $20,000,000 and
$50,000,000 with a construction period of 730 calendar days from Notice
to Proceed. The SIC for this solicitation is 1542. This is not a Small
Business Set-Aside. There will be a charge (non-refundable) of $500.00
for one complete set of construction documents that will include
drawings and specifications. Interested firms should send a Certified
Check made payable to the Department of Veterans Affairs to the
Contracting Officer (90C), VA Medical Center/Outpatient Clinics, 150
South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130. Requests for the
solicitation must be in writing and no telephone or fax requests will
be honored. In addition, solicitation documents will be available for
review at the VA Medical Center's Engineering Office, Boston, MA 02130,
Construction Market Data, 75 Second Avenue, Needham, MA 02194 and the
F.W. Dodge Group, Construction Information, 24 Hartwell Avenue,
Lexington, MA 02173. Those firms not submitting a bid should advise the
Contracting Office as to whether or not they wish to receive future pre
