Management -- Cincinnati Contracts Management Division,
http://www.epa.gov/oam/cinn_cmd. The US EPA, National Exposure Research
Laboratory, Cincinnati, OH, requires an Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass
Spectrometer (ICP-MS) for use in metal speciation and disinfection by
product research. A brief description of the ICP-MS instrument follows.
The ICP-MS instrument shall: (1) use an argon ICP as an ion source for
the mass spectrometer; (2) shall have the necessary hardware and
software to control the entire instrument including sample
introduction, ICP RF power and tuning, ion lens focusing, vacuum
capability and safety interlocks, quadrupole mass calibration and
scanning and ion detection and data processing; (3) detection limits in
the fractional ppt concentration range; (4) abundance sensitivity
greater than 1.0 x 10 (to the -6 power) (high side); (5) greater than
1.0 x 10 (to the 8 power) cps/ppm In absolute sensitivity; (6) ability
to acquire a transient signal and provide chromatographic peak
integration software; (7) the data collection and handling system must
allow for isotope ratioing capability on chromatographic (CE,IC,LC)
peaks; (8) 2-3% short (20 min)/long term (2 hrs) precision at 10ppb;
and (9) less than 0.2% isotope ratio accuracy at 5ppb are required. A
firm fixed price contract is contemplated. All requests for a copy of
RFQ-OH-97-00092 must be in writing; requests may be faxed to D. Easley
