COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 31,1997 PSA#1813National Science Foundation, Division of Contracts, Policy and
Oversight, Contracts Branch, 4201 Wilson Boulevard, Suite 475,
Arlington, VA 22230 70 -- LICENSE AGREEMENT/SUBSCRIPTION FOR DATABASE OF NEW TECHNOLOGY
COMPANIES POC Danny N. Price, Contract Specialist, (703) 306-1242 The
National Science Foundation (NSF) intends to renew a licensing
agreement/subscription with Corporate Technology Information Services,
Inc. for a database of new technology companies on a sole source basis
using simplified acquisition procedures, as authorized by FAR Part 13.
Although the licensing/subscription has been renewed on an annual
basis, NSF now proposes to procure these services for a 5-year period
to lower Government processing time and costs. This database describes
companies involved in new and high-technology activities and has two
unique features. First, companies are classified according to both a
product-based system, as well as an industry-based system, such as the
Standard Industrial Classification (SIC), and a detailed breakdown of
high-technology fields is possible with it. Secondly, the database is
supplied on a computer hardcard, with its own software that permits
one to search and sort the information in numerous ways. This notice of
intent is not a request for quotations. Any information received in
response to this notice will be used solely for the purpose of
determining if a competitive procurement should be conducted based on
Government discretion. See Note 22. (0086) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0317 19970331\70-0007.SOL)
