All playground equipment must conform to published guidelines and standards for safety, accessibility requirements of national criteria safety; published by the U.S. Consumer Safety Commission (CPSC), 1991 Public Playground Handbook for Safety, and The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, (ADA). No substitutes/exception to minimum criteria is acceptable. Accepted product material: Made of permalene; high density compression molded polyethylene. Tender-deck coating process; Twelve gauge carbon steel that is pressure washed in phosphate cleaner, followed by a primer that serves as a bonding agent, and then tender-tuff coated. Open piece, flange-formatted steel decks that fit tight to post (support structure) and are flush with the outside edges. Stainless steel studs pressed into underside of decks to improve safety and durability. One-fourth (1/4) inch deck perforations. All securing clamps are made of strong die-cast aluminum alloy, and fasteners are recessed to eliminate protrusions. Interested contractors must request a copy of the solicitation in writing.
