A -- LARGE BLAST/THERMAL SIMULATOR (LB/TS) ENGINEERING AND MAINTENANCE SUPPORT CONTRACT SOL DSWA01-97-R-0019 POC William Melanson, Negotiator, (703) 325-1469, Daniel R. Gonzales, Contracting Officer, (703) 325-6684. The purpose of this contract is to have continued operations, engineering and maintenance support of the LB/TS. This effort is to support readiness to test as well as engineering services to support LB/TS operations and maintenance of hardware and software. The Defense Special Weapons Agency (DSWA) provides customer interface and develops the test objectives and plans, coordinates with all LB/TS contractors and the customer, and schedules the test dates. The LB/TS operations contractor prepares the facility to execute blast and support thermal testing on that date. The operations contractor will also maintain the facility in the highest state of readiness between tests. This is required to obtain an operations, engineering and maintenance contractor for this period to operate and maintain LB/TS in support of blast and thermal testing. This is part of the DSWA blast and thermal effects testing program to support services system survivability testing requirements. Hydrocode refinement and blast and thermal phenomenology studies.
