(NSSB) was created from the National Skills Standards Act of 1994 to
serve as as a catalyst for stimulating the development and adoption of
a voluntary national system of skill standards. Among the functions of
the NSSB is to encouragee and facilitate the establishment of Voluntary
Partnerships to develop skill standards systems for occupational
clusters defined by the Board. These partnerships include
represenatives from employers, trade associations, labor organizations,
education and training institutions, and community-based organizations.
The NSSB is establishing a technical assistance function that will
provide a broad range of services to aide the Voluntary Partnerships in
achieving their goals. The requirement is for a contractor to serve as
a broker on behalf of the Voluntary Partnerships. The contractor will
provide a broad range of services and technical assistance. All
requests for a copy of the solicitation must be in writing or fax (202)
219-6853 and received within fifteen (15) days of publication of this
