The work involves construction of a new 26,650 square foot dormitory and demolition of six existing buildings totaling approximately 4,000 square feet. In addition to the new construction, the project includes the relocation of the existing overhead utility services to underground in the project area, installation of site grading, site lighting, and landscaping at the Mississpi Job Corps Center in Crystal Springs, Mississippi. Construction time is scheduled for 364 calendar days to substantial completion. The estimated cost range of construction is between $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. The bid deposit must be in the form of a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or money order and made payable to the U.S. Department of Labor, and submitted to Billes/Manning Architects at the time of request. All request will be answered on a first-come, first-serve basis until supplies are exhausted. For request made after the supply is exhausted, the Contracting Officer may determine whether payment of a fee is warranted. The non-refundable fee shall not exceed the actual cost of duplication of the IFB documents, plus COD charges. A Pre-bid walk-thru is scheduled for May 14, 1997, at 2:00 p.m. local time.
