Daigle Sealed bids from all business concerns will be accepted for the Chickamauga-Chattanooga National Military Park Project PRA-CHCH 27(4), in Walker County, Georgia. The project consists of the paving, signing, and striping of U.S. Route 27 from Long Hollow Road to McFarland Gap Road; the reconstruction of McFarland Gap Road; grading, drainage, and paving of Dewberry Road; waterline relocations; and other miscellaneous work. Principal items of work and approximate quantities are as follows: Roadway Excavation: 27,200 CY; Aggregate Base, Grading C or D: 10,000 TON; Hot Asphalt Concrete Pavement: 41,000 TON; Reinforced Concrete Culvert, Double Barrel: 370 LF; and Guardrail Systems: 5,670 LF; and Waterline Installation: 2,800 LF. The project is expected to fall within the price range of $2,500,000 to $5,000,000. Invitation for Bids No. DTFH71-97-B-00010 to be issued on or about April 15, 1997. The following applies to Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has bonding programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises in acquiring short-term capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates up to $500,000 to provide accounts receivable financing. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1,000,000 per contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses.
