The US EPA, National Risk Management Research Laboratory, requires particle sizing instrument and aerosol diluter capable of measuring particles from 0.5 to 30 micrometers, aerodynamic diameter, and 0.3 to 20 micrometers, optical size. The particle size measurement device must be capable of downloading data by use of an RS-232 connection to computers in the field or laboratory and must be portable, with Windows compatible software and capable of real time display of data. The diluter must be compatible with the measurement equipment (hardware and software). The instrument will be used for research on indoor particles and shall be listed and labeled by a third party listing agency approved by North Carolina Building Code Council.
