E-MAIL: ACC Contracting Squadron, BeckettR@ACCCONS.Langley.AF.Mil. The Air Combat Command plans to competitively procure systems support services for its Automated Battlefield System (ABS). This will be a commercial acquisition performed in accordance with Part 12 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). The ABS is a series of laptop computers used by deployed comptroller personnel to provide financial services during contingency operations. These computers function in a LAN environment connected to home stations by Defense Service Network (DSN) telephone lines, commercial telephone lines, or, as a last resort, by International Maritime Satellite (INMARSAT), allowing the deployed finance officer to conduct real time financial transactions. The system currently operates using Infoconnect communications software with 3270 emulation. The contractor will be responsible for conducting recurring ABS training, providing training for specific purposes when requested, and developing ABS training plans for the comptroller training school and the Air Force Major Commands (MAJCOMs) annual contingency training programs. The contractor will also provide ongoing technical support to all users, to include operating a telephone help desk, documenting and crossfeeding any lessons learned and preparing studies on ABS viability. The contractor will maintain Government Furnished Equipment(GFE) benchstock to support all ABS platforms, propose and evaluate software upgrades, solve compatibility issues and configure, test and distribute new telecommunication hardware and software to keep the ABS at the forefront of technology. These services will be provided in support of the Combat Air Forces (CAF) which includes: Air Combat Command (ACC), United States Air Forces Europe (USAFE), Pacific Air Force (PACAF), Air Mobility Command (AMC), Air National Guard (ANG), and Air Force Reserve (AFRES). Support provided to the comptroller school at Sheppard AFB is through Air Education and Training Command (AETC). Travel within the continental United States (CONUS) may be required to support this effort.All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered by this agency.
