Gambuti 201-597-7380 The Foster Wheeler Environmental Corporation is notifying prospective offerors that an RFP will become available on April 10, 1997 for remedial action at the Mattiace Petrochemical Site in Glen Cove, N.Y. This CERCLA action is in response to USEPA Work Assignment No. 074-2R2B under the USEPA ARCS II Contract No. 68-W8-0110. The Mattiace site is an abandoned 1.9 acre parcel that was formerly used as an organic chemical blending, storage, and recycling facility. Historical operations have resulted in organic and metals contamination of the site soils and groundwater. This action will be focused on the implementation of an in-situ soil vapor and groundwater extraction, treatment and reinjection system for the site. The work will include construction planning, equipment supply, construction, start-up testing and an optional 3 month operation of the system. Qualifications of the offerors shall include: a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working on CERCLA sites; demonstrated experience in constructing and operating similar systems; capability to perform all required services; and, proven experience controlling schedule and budget on similar actions. A pre-proposal site meeting will be held on or about April 24, 1997. Solicitation documents will be provided at a charge of $100.00 for each set. Payment should accompany the solicitation request and be made payable to Foster Wheeler Environmental Corp. The estimated price for construction ranges between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000.
