Concerns having the ability to furnish the supplies described herein are requested to give written notification (including the telephone number for a point of contact) to the procuring office above within forty-five (45) calendar days from the date of this synopsis. Salient characteristics: Provide duplicating film, 9-1/2" x 250' shall be compatible with the E-6 film process; emulsion shall be wound emulsion in, non-performated, with no leader or trailer; 7 ml. ESTAR base (polyester base) with fast drying backing; low contrast duplicating film with a gamma of 1.00 to 1.10; RMS granularity value of 9 when read at a net diffused density of 1.00 with a 48-micrometer aperture; resolving power on a low contrast target of 63 line pairs per mm; packaged to reel dimensions as follows: core diameter (inches) 1 1/8", flange diameter (inches) 6 5/8", and the reel material black painted steel. Film shall be delivered no later than 120 calendar days after award to the EROS Data Center, Sioux Falls, SD. Contract shall be for one year with an option for one additional twelve month period. Based on information available at this time, and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1, the Government considers the item specified as a sole source from Eastman Kodak Company, Rochester, NY and proposes to negotiate a contract with that firm on that basis. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required item or its functional equivalent (based upon the criteria specified herein) are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement. An affirmative response would include literature, brochures, and other such materials which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation document exists, requests for such documents without accompanyng information will be considered non-responsive to this request without further consideration.
