GSA is seeking companies that provide an Interactive Response System for Distance Learning which is used to allow students at multiple locations to become active participants in live distance learning sessions. Included in this system are (1) a keypad for each student, with audio and data capabilities, built-in microphone and flagging feature to let the instructor know when a student has a question, (2) a site controller which can control more than 60 keypads, manages and places calls from students and electronically notifies instructors that a particular student is on the line (3) a host computer, which is an easy-to-use, multi-tasking computer that gives a presenter immediate two-way audio and data access to each student (4) a software program to help instructors field questions in the order they are received, indicating how many students are participating and how well they understand, allow real-time tabulation of results and storeseach student's response (5) a phone controller that manages incoming phone calls from remote sites to the host (6) an assistant station that allows an assistant to help an instructor during a broadcast. This is connected to the host to administer network diagnostics, make database entries or changes, or send E-mail messages, without disrupting the instructor's host user interface (7) a software program to allow the distance learning instructors to create their own presentation materials and analyze course results quickly.
