CA. Cost Range: $500,000 -- $1,000,000. SIC Code 1793 (S ize $7.0) is
applicable. Work includes labor, materials, equipment and supervis ion
required for the removal and replacement of existing curtainwall and
sloped glazing system at various locations on the building. Removal of
existing system shall include the complete glazing and metal system.
Work shall also include r eplacement of existing fixed window units
with operable windows in atrium (1st t o 4th floors), removal of gypsum
board soffits, ceilings and partitions that eng age existing
curtainwall to facilitate its removal, weather protection for the w ork
to protect finished interiors, repair existing fireproofing systems
that are damaged from removal/installation of systems and installation
of 4th floor glas s mock-up. Liquidated damages are applicable and
will be stated in the solicita tion. Prime contractor shall perform 60%
under its own workforce. Construction performance time is 280 calendar
days after the receipt of the Notice to Proceed . A pre-bid conference
and walk-thru are scheduled for Monday, April 21, 1997 @ 10:00 AM local
time at the Federal Building, 501 W. Ocean Blvd., Long Beach, CA . The
solicitation will be issued on or about April 9, 1997 and will be
issued on a first-come first-served basis. Bid opening date is May 13,
1997 @ 2:00 PM. 20% Bid Bond is required. Performance and Payment
