Contract Specialist GREG BILLINGS (508) 233-4481 (Site Code DAAK60) The
U.S. Army Soldier Systems Command has a requirement for inspection,
maintenance, chemical treatment, and emergency services for 17 cooling
towers. These towers include 2 MARLEY (400 ton capacity each) and 15
EVAPCO (3-75 ton, 1-85 ton, 1-150 ton, 6-200 ton, 2-400 ton, and 2-450
ton capacity each) type. Period of service shall be for one year
beginning at the date of award with two one year options. The
Contractor will regularly inspect each cooling tower. Inspections will
be performed Monday through Friday between 7:00 A.M. and 5:30 P.M.
Work will be performed on a weekly, monthly, and semi-annual basis.
Cooling tower water samples will be taken and tested for proper amounts
of corrosion and scale inhibitors, biocides, conductivity, hardness,
and PH levels. The Contractor will check the operation of sump heaters
during the period of November through April and visually inspect each
tower, fan, fan motor, pump, pump motor, and fan belts. The Contractor
will check for excess vibration and noise on fans, pumps and motors.
The Contractor will adjust, align and replace fanbelts as required,
check fan bearings and lubricate as needed, and check for proper
operation of all controls. The Contractor will lubricate fan motors as
required, clean basins, and check and clean heating elements of
deposits. Response time for emergency calls shall be within two hours
of receipt of request on a twenty four hour, seven days per week basis
during this contract. Repairs will be limited to normal wear and tear.
All services will be performed at the U.S. Army Soldier Systems
Command, Natick, MA. The SIC code for this acquisition is 7349.
