NASA/GSFC is hereby soliciting information from potential sources for delivery of two digital front-end telemetry processing units providing the following capabilities on a CCSDS bit stream: bit rates to 150Mbps sustained; frame sychronization in either bit forward, bit reverse, inverted or normal polarity; Reed Solomon decoding; CCSDS de-packet service; network capability; remote command/monitor/control capability; and reliability and maintenance to support mission life of 3 to 5 years. One unit is expected to be delivered to Wallops Island, VA, the other to Fairbanks, AK. Both deliveries will be by September, 1998. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. Vendors having the capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements are invited to submit appropriate documentation, literature, brochures, and references. Please advise if the requirement is considered to be a commercial or commercial-type product. A commercial item is defined in "Note A".
