Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has a
requirement for 20,000 containers of sterile buffered peptone water.
The container shall be clear, non-breakable, narrow-mouth, and leak
proof. The container size shall be 10 ml. The individual container
shall fit into a 7.7" x 7.7" x 4.5" shipping box. The buffered peptone
water (Difco #1810-17-9 or equivalent) shall be produced from the
following formula: 1000 ml distilled water, 10 gms peptone, 5 gms
sodium chloride, 3.5 gms sodium phosphate di-basic, and 1.5 gms
potassium phosphate mono-basic. The sterile buffered water shall be
shipped to the USDA-Midwestern Laboratory located in St. Louis, MO.
FSIS requires the following delivery schedule: April 21, quantity 5000;
May 1, quantity 5000; June 1, quantity 5000; and July 1, quantity 5000.
All bids shall be FOB Destination. Purchase will be made under the
Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Bids should be received in the
Contracting Office by 3:30 p.m. on April 11, 1997. Bids may be faxed to
