70 -- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT FOR OPTICAL MEDIA SOL MDA230-97-Q-0001 DUE 041697 POC Frank T. Troha (216) 522-6600 Fax: (216) 522-6352 The Defense Finance and Accounting Service Cleveland Contracting Support Office (DFAS-CL/CSO) intends to award a sole source procurement for the acquisition of: 74 (seventy-four) OPTICAL DISK 12 inch media, PART NUMBER GM 6401. Total capacity of each disk is 6.4 Gigabytes consisting of 3.2 Gigabytes capacity each side. Each disk is encased in a plastic case with side flip openings for disk reading and writing functions. Each disk is approximately 1/16" thick with optical media type "ATG CYNET" for use with an "ATG" (manufacturer) drive, Model Number GD-6001. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which if timely received, shall be considered by the agency. All responses must be faxed. The Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition is FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source or Only A Limited Number of Responsible Sources. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all quotations received within fifteen (15) days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Quotations received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
