(FDA), Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM) has a requirement to
evaluate newly developed analytical methods to determine if they can
meet current FDA standards for methods that identify and quantify
animal residues in meat, eggs, fish, and other animal derived food
sources. This contract will have tasks to provide data and observations
to assist CVM in determining if the assigned method meets the standards
for specificity, precision, systematic error, and collateral criteria.
There will be three phases: instrumental performance evaluation,
method familiarization and assay of predetermined set of samples along
with a method trial of sulfadiazine in salmon tissue developed by the
FDA National Center for Toxicologial Research. Samples of analytical
drugs, medicated or control feed, control tissue or milk, and tissue or
milk containing incurred residues of drugs will be provided by CVM. A
five-year period of performance is anticipated for this requirement
