University, a private university located in Washington, DC, seeks
expressions of interest from architects for design services supporting
the new Health Sciences Library project. The estimated construction
costs of the project are $20,000,000.00. The following criteria will be
used in the evaluation of firms: PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (20%) A.
Team experience on projects of same building type or level of
complexity. B. Professional qualifications and experience of key
personnel to work responsibly with all members of the Project Team.
CAPABILITIES OF FIRM (20%) A. Depth of team and technical resources
available and not committed to other projects. B. Knowledge of Howard
University and its built environment and that of the City of Washington
and its communities. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCE
(15%) A. Applicability of team's previous work to the type required
herein. B. Based on the work shown, organization of the team to
accomplish the projects. DESIGN QUALITY (20%) A. Significant design
quality of the body of work presented. B. Appropriateness of the body
of work to the context and purpose for which it was intended. MINORITY
PARTICIPATION IN PROJECTS (25%) A. Reflection in the composition of
the team of the University's mission to provide equal opportunity. B.
Significant reflection in the organization of the team of the alumni
leadership legacy of the University. Interested firms are required to
purchase an information packet that includes the RFP. Information
packets are available for a fee of $65.00, payable only by money order
to Howard University. Requests for the information packet should be
