Chappell 717-334-1124 Indefinite Quantities Contract for Architect-Engineering Services. The National Park Service at Gettysburg is seeking a qualified engineering consultant to produce condition assessment reports, recommendations for repair and treatment, and structural design on historic structures. In addition, the applicant should have the capability to produce topographical surveys. Initial Project: Produce a condition assessment and recommendation for repair and treatment of three (3) historic cast iron observation towers built in 1896. The indefinite quantities contract is for work not to exceed $50,000 per year. The duration of the contract can be extended for four years after the initial year, or for five (5) years total. Applicants must: Be a registered engineer with at least ten years experience, be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience, through completion of similar projects, in working with historical structural systems, such as heavy timber (19th century rural farm buildings), cast iron, and load-bearing stone and brick, be able to produce topographic land surveys, be able to produce computer documentation using AutoCad (R13 is preferable), be located within a 90 mile radius and have experience with the National Park Service.
