The Federal Bureau of Prisons intends to award a service contract to the qualified individual or business capable of providing trash removal services for the Federal Correctional Institution, Elkton, Ohio. Services include but are not limited to: providing and maintaining three enclosed self contained trash dumpsters, of no less than 37 cubic yards in size. There is an estimated two pulls per week. Dumpsters will be equipped with: a remote power pac unit, 220 volt, three phase electric, oil heater, steel enclosure, and have at least a 7 gauge thickness. Disposal should be in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations. Certification in accordance with these laws will be required. The service is not required to begin until October 1, 1997. Award will be in accordance with the specifications and to the qualified, lowest bidder. The Service Contract Act is applicable and mandates that services provided will be at least at the prevailing wage rates determined by the Department of Labor. Wage rates will be included in the solicitation. The anticipated issue date of solicitations is April 16, 1997, with an anticipated bid opening of July 16, 1997.
