Manager, FAX(609)485- 6509. The FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center
(WHTC) has technical expertise, facilities and laboratories to support
areas of research identified in NASA NRA2-36648 (BRM) "Technical
Research in Advanced Air Transportation Concepts & Technologies." The
WHTC is interested in supporting a Prime Contractor as part of an
integrated industry/university/WHTC team on tasks under this NRA in one
or more of the areas of research. Several WHTC laboratories and the
resident equipment and systems are unique within the Air Traffic
Control (ATC) and Air Traffic Management (ATM) Research and Development
(R&D) community. Specifically, WHTC houses current operational systems
and proposed future systems in the en route, terminal, oceanic,
communications, navigation and surveillance domains. Fast and real-time
modeling and simulation tools are available to support analysis and
evaluation of operational procedures and concepts, technologies and
architectures of the National Airspace System (NAS). In addition, human
factors expertise, laboratories, and measurement tools are available to
accurately determine the system impact and effect on the human
operators. To support offerors in preparing their proposals, there will
be briefings and tours of ATC/ATM and human factors laboratories at the
WHTC, Atlantic City International Airport, N. J., on Thursday, April
10, 1997, from 9:00 AM -12:00 PM. To attend the briefings and tours,

participants to no more than three attendees. No questions specifically
related to NRA2-36648 (BRM) will be answered during the briefings or
