Schwaberow, Contracting Officer, (415) 329-4171 The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Menlo Park, California, intends to place a purchase order for 8 each of the Cisco WS-C1900C Ethernet Switch and SMARTnet maintenance for this item and 2 each of the Cisco WS-C2902 Fast Ethernet Switch and SMARTnet maintenance for this item. Technical specifications available upon request. Delivery of all items are required by May 12, 1997. Cisco SMARTnet support for one year, includes 24 hour, 7 day telephone support, all defect patches and software updates, access to on-line support via Internet email and Web and next business day advance hardware replacement. All software and accessories supplied must be the latest version available from the manufacturer. Computer equipment, software and systems must meet the following requirements: The software must perform fault-free in the processing of date and date related data (including, but not limited to, calculating, comparing and sequencing) by all hardware and software products delivered under this contract/procurement, individually and in combintation, upon installation. Fault free performance includes the manipulation of this data with dates prior to, through and beyond January 1, 2000 and shall be transparent to the user. Hardware and software products individually and in combination, shall successfully transition into the year 2000 with the correct system date, without human intervention, including leap year calculations. Hardware and software products, individually and in combination, shall also provide correct results when moving forward or backward in time across the year 2000.
