The Naval Research Laboratory has a requirement for a quantity of one (1) scanning probe microscope (SPM) and a quantity of 160 SPM probes. The Naval Research Laboratory need for the scanning probe microscope(SPM) is a system suitable for the characterization of nanochannel glass materials and optical fiber structural analysis. Characterization methods include contact and tapping mode atomic force microscopy, magnetic force microscopy, electric force microscopy, lateral force microscopy and, with upgrades, to include phase imaging, scanning tunneling microscopy,adhesion force microscopy, non-magnetic option, and acoustic and vibration isolation. Delivery of the scanning probe microscope and SPM probes shall be 70 days after date of contract award. Delivery of Options 1 through 5 shall be 70 days after exercise of options, if exercised. The contractor shall install and calibrate the microscope at the Naval Research Laboratory. The contractor shall train personnel. Technical specificaions will be included in the solicitation.
