The U.S. Army Missile Command intends to acquire Contractor Logistic Support for the M270 Interim Improved Position Determining system Launcher for the Multiple Launch Rocket System. This acquisition will include Contractor Field Technical Support, supply support, training, and depot level maintenance for 38 M270 IPDS unique items and 58 modified missile launch pod assembly trainers. This effort will be sole source to Lockheed Martin Vought Systems, the designer and developer of the MLRS. Therefore, the only contractor presently possessing the required experience, expertise, and knowledge necessary to perform logistic support for the Interim IPDS launchers. This effort will be a firm requirement for support beginning 4QTRFY 1997, with options for FY 1998.
