Officer,Dorothy Lestage This is a MODIFICATION to a synopsis that
previously appeared in the Commerce Business Daily on 01 April 1997.
This modification changes the contract N68711-93-B-1437 to the new
contract number N68711-96-B-4557. This modification additionally
announces the inclusion of the following change to the bid items:
N68711-96-B-4557 and 052797. SUBMISSION NO. 053435 DESCRIPTION OF WORK
-- The work includes the provision of all labor, materials and
equipment for the decentralization of the existing central steam plant
including twenty-six (26) new gas fired steam and hot water boiler
systems, utility connections, modifications to existing HVAC systems,
boiler enclosures, demolition, removal and disposal of asbestos
containing materials, disconnection of building steam lines from
existing steam distribution system, connection of new boilers to
existing buildings and incidental related work. Coordination With Work
of Other Contracts: A new gas distribution system will be installed
under a separate contract. The scheduled completion of the gas
distribution system is on or before 01 April 1998. Cut over from the
existing steam distribution to the new boilers may begin as gas is
available at individual boiler locations. All boilers shall be
operational within 30 days after completion of the new gas distribution
system and incidental related work complete and ready for use. -- The
estimated cost is $1,000,000 -- $5,000,000. Firm Fixed Price Contract.
-- Contract duration is approximately 180 calendar days. -- This
proposed contract will be unrestricted. -- The Standard Industrial Code
is 1623 and the annual size standard is $17 million. It is recommended
the subcontracting goals reflect a minimum goal of 5% for Small
Disadvantaged Business Subcontracting effort. Bidders should request in
writing stating IFB number N68711-96-B-4557, with complete name,
address, area code and phone number and whether bidding as a
prime/subcontractor/supplier. -- A fee of $47.00 will be charged for
each set of plans and specs. This is a NON-REFUNDABLE FEE. -- Telephone
request will not be accepted. -- Mail requests with a check payable to
DEFENSE PRINTING SERVICE to Southwest Division, Naval Facilities
Engineering Command (Plan Issue), 1220 Pacific Highway, Bldg. 132, San
Diego, CA 92132-5187 or fax requests to (619) 532-2083. -- Fax
requests will be accepted but, WILL NOT be processed until your check
has been received by this office. -- Submit one (1) check per project.
-- Solicitation packages are limited to two (2) sets per prime and one
(1) set per subcontractor/supplier. -- Bidders responding under this
advertisement will not be required to resubmit request once formally
advertised. -- Tentative issue date is on or about 25 April 1997 with
an opening date of approximately 30 days later (NOTE: BOD stated above
is TENTATIVE). -- Responses are due no later than 15 calendar days
