INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS FOR A SCIENCE PROGRAM, SIXTH THROUGH TWELFTH
GRADE, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE DEPENDENTS SCHOOL SYSTEM
MDA414-97-R-0002 DUE 071197. Provide instructional materials for a
science program, sixth through twelfth grade, for the Department of
Defense Dependents Schools System. Contractors will be required to
submit student textbooks or equivalents, assessment materials for the
program, and activity/practice materials as well as provide
professional support services for teachers, science coordinators, and
administrators which shall be evaluated by the Government. To enhance
competition, the science program, the science program has been divided
as follows: Integrated Science 1 through 4 (Grades 6-9); Biology;
Introduction to Physics; Introduction to Chemistry; Earth/Space
Science; Chemistry; Physics; Oceanography; Marine Biology; Physiology;
Astronomy; Ecology; Science and Technology; AP Biology; AP Chemistry;
and AP Physics. Contractors selecting the Integrated Science 1 through
4 grouping must submit one complete set of sample materials for each
grade level represented therein to be considered for that grouping.
Contractors selecting any of the other science courses must submit one
complete set of sample materials for each course selected to be
considered. Materials will be evaluated for: correlation with the
Department of Defense Dependents Schools Science Content Standards,
quality of the assessment materials, and fair and equal treatment of
diverse students. Contractors may submit more than one proposal;
however, each proposal must be independently submitted and will be
independently evaluated. Contractors shall not submit any science
instructional material for review to schools, teachers, science
coordinators, or other employees of the Department of Defense Education
Activity or Department of Defense Dependents Schools during this
solicitation phase. The contract will be a requirements type;
performance period is estimated as a base period and five, twelve
month, option periods. All responsible sources may submit a proposal
which shall be considered by the agency. The proposed solicitation is
expected to be issued approximately 20 May 1997. The solicitation will
address submission of proposals including time, date and mailing
