AFB Chapel, Building 475 will involve all labor, equipment, tools and
incidentals required to repair and upgrade existing structures
including, but not limited to the following: Demolish the existing CMU,
brick or stud walls, veneer, roof overhangs, doors, ceilings,
cabinetry, floor coverings, lighting, ductwork, movable partitions and
appliances. Saw cut existing concrete walls. Properly dispose of all
items. Remove asbestos materials including floor tile, adhesive,
thermal system insulation, duct tape and kitchen sink using an Air
Force Prequalified asbestos abatement contractor. Dispose of the
asbestos material in the appropriate manner. Repair existing concrete
stairs. Install steel stud walls at the interior of the facility. Fur
out concrete walls and install drywall. Patch and fill in existing
window openings. Install wood and Formica cabinetry. Install interior
finish materials for the facility, including but not limited to:
drywall, paint, ceramic tile, vinyl tile, carpeting and suspended
acoustical ceilings. Install new aluminum storefront systems. Install
new steel and wood doors and frames, and door hardware. Relocate toilet
specialties including partitions. Relocate sinks, faucets and all
supply, vent and waste lines required by the contract documents.
Provide new sprinkler heads for an existing fire protection system.
Install heating, ventilation and cooling equipment including ductwork,
diffusers, grilles, louvers and controls. Provide new fire alarm
system work for the addition. Install lighting, duplex outlets,
conduit, wire, phone outlets, panels, etc. The construction of an
addition to the Base Chapel, Building 475, will involve all labor,
equipment, tools and incidentals necessary to construct a NEW structure
of approximately 30' x 54' including the following: Demolish the
existing landscaping, trees and ground cover to prepare the site for
the building. Relocate an existing post indicator valve, Fire
Department connection, light pole and other amenities. Excavate,
compact and backfill earth. Restore and upgrade the landscaping at the
completion of the contract. Construct reinforced concrete foundations,
columns, slabs and sidewalks. Construct a structural steel frame for
the addition and walkway with steel joists, metal decking and sections.
Install steel stud walls at the interior of the facility. Provide
sheathing materials and other rough carpentry. Install wood and Formica
cabinetry. Provide exterior brick veneer. Install a built up roof for
the addition and a new metal standing seam roof for the new
walkway/connector to the existing facility. Install insulation and
waterproofing materials. Provide interior finish materials for the
addition and walkway including but not limited to: drywall, paint,
ceramic tile, vinyl tile, carpeting and suspended acoustical ceilings.
Provide new aluminum storefront systems, new aluminum windows, steel
and wood door frames and door hardware. Provide new EIFS, synthetic
stucco for exterior. Provide and install toilet specialties including
partitions. Provide roof drainage systems. Install sinks, toilets,
urinals, floor drains, faucets and all supply, vent and waste lines
required by the contract documents. Provide engineering and labor to
install a fire protection system in the new portions of the facility.
Provide heating, ventilation and cooling equipment including ductwork,
diffusers, grilles, louvers, equipment pads and controls. Provide new
fire alarm system work for the addition. Install lighting, duplex
outlets, conduit, wire phone outlets, panels, etc. Estimated range:
$500,000.00 -- $1,000,000.00 Performance period: 240 days The
approximate issue/response date will be 24 Apr 97. No telephone
requests. Only written or faxed requests received directly from the
requestor are acceptable. All responsible sources solicited may submit
a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered. Request for
copies of solicitations must reference the entire solicitation number,
including purchasing office identification number. To expedite your
request, limit the number of individual solicitation numbers requested
per letter to not more than 10. Don't request information on this
requirement until after the issue date. An Ombudsman has been appointed
to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the
proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the
Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or
contracting officer, but to communicate contractor, concerns, issues,
disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government
personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict
confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not
participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection
