The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport intends to place a firm fixed price contract with Hughes Technical Services of El Segundo, CA on a sole-source basis, for the following: 0001 -IETM Authoring Tool Set, V3.X., includes Software on 3.5" flopply media, author and user documentation, with license to produce run-time systems and reproduce user documentation. Item No. IETMTS-3X.. 0002 -- IETM Maintenance, V3.X. One year of software maintenance agreement for IETMTS-3X. Includes software a nd documentation updates, newsletters, and 10 hours of call-in technical support per copy. Item No. IETMMA-3X. 0003 -- Authoring Tool Set Training Course with 40-hour class for up to 10 people. 0004 -- IETM Database Development Course with 24 hours of classroom training for up to 10 people. Delivery terms are F.O.B. Destination to the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport, Newport, RI by 15 May 1997. This acquisition is being processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures, FAR Part 13.A wri tten quotation will be issued with award being made by 21 April 1997. Other than Full and Open Competition procedures are being used because Hughes Technical Services Company is the only company that can provide software functionality, maintenance and training that will interface with existing 3-D Studio Max and Autodisk Animator software, as well as operate on a Pentium computer. Hughes Technical Services Company is the sole designer and developer of the required Authoring Tool Set and has proprietary ri ghts to this software. Any source that believes it has the capability to meet the Government's minimum requirements is invited to submit technical/cost literature for Government evaluation.
