concepts to solve operational deficiencies across the full spectrum of
AF Space Command mission areas. These mission areas include Space
Training, Education, and Exercise; Launch Operations; Satellite
Operations; Counter Space; Space Surveillance; National Missile
Defense; Space-based Navigation; Satellite Communications; Space-based
Environmental Monitoring; Global Prompt Strike; Battle
Management/Command and Control; and Surveillance and Threat Warning. A
more detailed description of these mission areas can be found on the
World Wide Web at http://www.afbmd.laafb.af.mil/xrt. We are looking for
near-term, mid-term, and far-term (25-years out) concepts to satisfy
deficiencies identified by AF Space Command (AFSPC). Concepts may
include use of existing hardware and software as well as new
technologies and ideas. Non-US firms are welcome to respond. This call
is for information purposes only. The government does not intend to
award any contracts based on this action or to pay any costs associated
with this information. Interested parties should request additional
information from the individual identified below NLT 18 Apr 97. Concept
description papers should be submitted NLT 23 May 97. These concept
description papers should conform to the concept description template
provided in the information package and include, as a minimum, a
description of the concept's military relevancy (which deficiency(ies)
addressed), a description of concept operations, date when concept
will be mature enough to start Program Definition and Risk Reduction
(Phase I), and a description of any technology advancements required to
achieve a mature concept. If possible, we are also interested in
information relating to the following functional considerations for
each concept: logistics; communications; installation support;
security; personnel; space training, education, and exercise; medical;
intelligence; test and evaluation; and science and technology. All
submitted Concept Descriptions will be reviewed by a Technical Planning
Integrated Product Team (TPIPT) consisting of members from AFMC Product
Centers (e.g. SMC, ESC, ASC), AFSPC, AF Labs (e.g. Rome, Phillips,
Armstrong, Wright), and possibly other AF and DoD agencies. We will
provide additional information to interested parties in either an
unclassified or a DoD Secret format. For those parties requesting the
classified version, you must provide your CAGE Code and the name and
phone number of the DIS office that manages your facility. After the
initial review of your concept papers by the TPIPTs, additional
information may be requested and/or provided either directly or through
the Internet. We encourage submission of information through the XRT
Concept Call Page on the World Wide Web; however, mailings to the
relevant POCs are welcome. Proprietary information will also be
accepted and protected as required. Information regarding the XRT
