COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF APRIL 9,1997 PSA#182099 -- FLAT BRONZE GRAVE MARKERS The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
(VA) solicits industry comments on a draft Commercial Item Description
(CID) for flat bronze grave markers. The CID is being developed for
use in a solicitation to be issued on or about May 23, 1997, covering
VA's estimated 175,000 annual flat bronze grave marker requirements for
the period October 1, 1997, through September 30, 1998, with two,
one-year options to extend the term of the contract(s) through
September 30, 2000. A copy of the draft CID can be obtained by mail
from the issuing office located at the National Cemetery System
Operations Support Center, Centralized Contracting Division (402D3),
5101 Russell Road, Quantico, VA 22134, or by facsimile at (703)
441-3070, attn: W. A. Simpson, or by electronic mail at:
simpson.wayne@forum.va.gov. The draft CID is also available through
VA's FTP site at "ftp.va.gov". Users should login as anonymous; the
document name is "DRAFT_CID.doc" located in the "cemetery" directory.
The document is a Microsoft Word Version 6.0 document. VA is not
responsible for documents obtained through its FTP site that may have
been intentionally altered or edited by unauthorized individuals. Care
should be exercised when obtaining documents from the FTP site. VA
will review and consider all comments received. Any changes to the
draft CID as a result of comments received will be reflected in the
final CID issued as part of the resulting solicitation. Comments
received will not be revealed outside of VA, nor will VA respond to
comments. All comments must be received within 14 calendar days from
date of appearance of this notice. Comments may be submitted by letter,
